SELECTING WALL ART BY COLOUR

whattsapp-8826016792
Did you know in the world of decorating, there is a big difference between room colour palettes versus the colour palettes of art? With art, there is more allowance for the use of bold colour schemes or the brights you may only reserve for an accent wall.
There are two major approaches to selecting your wall art by colour.
First, add art to your room that incorporates colours already present in the room. In the majority of cases, sticking to a consistent scheme is cohesive, sophisticated, and complementary. Basics of this style include:
Your most significant piece of artwork should have a background colour that matches your wall colour.
Reference the colour wheel when selecting complementary shades.
Use the same colour but in different shades. A light blue and white painting looks beautiful with a navy-blue wall.
Only choose wall art if that exact shade is already in your room. Most spaces should not exceed four colours to look pulled together.
Stick to black and whites when in doubt about colour. Black and white match everything while also adding to the elegance of a structure.
Stay away from bright colours and neons as these do not always match up with neutral wall colours.
Keep the colours in your wall art equal in proportion to their presence in the room. For instance, if your place is black and white with red throw pillows, select wall art that is black and white with a touch of red.
Make use of mirrors to reflect art. Reflections make the room look larger and duplicate the appearance of all wall art.
Alternatively, choose art for your room that introduces bolder shades on the same colour scheme. Your wall colour does not restrict your palette but instead serves as a baseline for your evolving sense of personal style.
Bright or neon pieces stand out against walls with neutral backgrounds.
Tie together the room with line work or style rather than colour. Pieces from the same artist could be different colours but pulled together with the style of painting.
Play with texture and colour in wall art, furniture, and accessories. Buy pieces made from mixed materials like wood and metal. Adding the colours of the artwork to the accessories of your room emphasises the boldness of your wall hangings.
Purchase based on undertones. The undertones of a painting are the underlying qualities of the picture. Dark brown undertones look great on light brown walls, even if light brown is not actually in the artwork.
Make use of photo frames to emphasise your favourite pieces. Frames do not necessarily need to be in standard colours like black, white, silver, or gold.
Introduce a new colour into the room in twos or threes. One occurrence of a bright pink could be accidental, but two circumstances make it intentional. Repeating colour increases its impact in the room.

How to Choose the Perfect Wall Art for Your Space

Wall hangings, art, and photos serve as the stylistic icing on the cake that is your home. Wall art draws the eye, pulls together space, and makes your home inviting.
The search and installation of pieces you love are worth the trouble because it genuinely improves your home.
While there is no set of rules in place for adorning a home, following these basic instructions will help you select the perfect pieces. Go by size, style, colour, theme, inspiration, or floor plan. The options are limitless.

THE #1 TIP YOU NEED FOR CHOOSING THE PERFECT WALL ART
The top piece of advice every person needs to choose the perfect wall art is this: select what you like. If you see something and it does not foster feelings of enjoyment or relaxation, don’t put it on your wall. It is your home, your design, and your money being spent on wall art.
While it is common for family members to make compromises in selections, this definitely does not mean you need home décor that does not suit your style. You live in your home, so enjoy the pieces you have adorning your walls!
SELECTING WALL ART BY SIZE
When it comes to wall art, it gets tough if you are not particular about sizing. Go into your search for wall art with a size in mind for quick selection.
Looking to decorate a room? Many people find it easier to start with the larger pieces and work their way down. As you begin pulling together your space, purchases add up, and soon enough your home will be decorated to your preferences.
Here are the basics of wall art sizing, whether displaying pieces alone or together with a gallery wall, if you wish to use sizing for your defining feature:
Oversized: These parts are 100 centimetres in length or greater. Before buying a piece this large, measure your space to see if it can accommodate it. Oversized wall art acts as a focal point of a wall or a room.
whatsapp 8826016792
Large: This size frame is from about 80 to 100 centimetres in length. Large wall art could serve as a centrepiece or be balanced on either side with mini or small pieces. One to two large pieces per room is standard.
Medium: Wall art in this category is from 60 to 70 centimetres long. Some pieces can stand alone, but medium pieces also go well when grouped with one another. Keep your space symmetrical when adding medium wall hangings.
Small: A small hanging goes well above shelving, pieces of furniture, and on short walls because it is 45 to 59 centimetres in length. Small art pieces go well in pairs or groups of three to six hangings.
Mini: The smallest size of frames are mini, falling in the range of 25 to 44 centimetres. Think about anything the size of a piece of paper or smaller as a mini piece of art. You often see them sold as collections; it is common to see at least three to four of these sold together.
When selecting wall art, go with a general idea about the size you are looking for in a room. Most bathrooms cannot accommodate oversized wall art, just as most living rooms aren’t decorated with minis.
There are some general sizing rules to think about:
Pictures should not be more than two-thirds longer than your sofa.
Photos should be at least 15 centimetres above the edge of your furniture.
A small piece of art can’t fill a big space. Group small pieces together. Works by the same artist complement each other well.
Consider the height of ceilings when choosing size. Be sure it fills the space in length and width
8826016792
Of all of the ways to choose wall art, decorating your home based on style might be the most natural. More than anything, selecting wall art by style is personal. A few examples of styles to use include: a focus on antique pieces, a bright, bold form, or a Bohemian look.

https://www.facebook.com/APARAJITA-ORGANISATION-1447701708871014

10 Corner Decoration Ideas That Actually Make Sense

Room corners are awkward and also pretty annoying and challenging when it comes to furnishing or decorating a space. They often force us to adopt certain specific layouts or to organize our homes in ways which are not necessarily optimal. But there’s no point being demoralized about it when a much more efficient attitude would be trying to find a way to make the most of that awkward corner space and to actually turn it into a positive feature. Today we’re showing you ten corner decoration ideas which will hopefully set you on the right track.
Room corners are actually ideal spaces if you want to create a cozy reading nook. Find yourself a comfortable chair, maybe also an ottoman, a side table and a lamp and cuddle up with a good book.
You can also put a small desk in the corner of a room like the living area or the bedroom. You might not be able to find a desk with the exact dimensions that you need so consider a custom design. The desk could simply be an oversized wall-mounted shelf.
You can also display things in corners. For example, a large potted plant would actually fit perfectly in such a space. It wouldn’t really interfere with the room’s layout and it could actually be pretty big and tall, like this one.A more practical option is to occupy the corner with a big piece of furniture like a closet or a bookcase. You could put doors and shelves on either side of the unit or you can make it compact so it can double as a space divider in an unconventional sense of the term.
More often than not, we choose to display floor lamps in the corners of our rooms simply because it really makes sense and it’s actually a perfect match. Floor lamps are usually tall and narrow so they fit perfectly in corners and you can have chairs and sofas placed right beside them, creating a cozy combo
You can also use a room corner to display a group of objects. For example, a collection of vases, sculptures, books or other items can be displayed here, all grouped up on shelves or on a console table.
Here’s an example of how you can organize a space by incorporating the corner into the design. Notice how you can barely notice the corner since it’s covered by the plant and wall decor.
If you place a chair or a sofa in a corner like this you’ll be left with an empty triangle-shaped space just behind it and that’s actually not such a bad thing. You can put the corner space to good use if you place a floor lamp, a plant or some other accent piece there.
You can make a room corner seem less harsh and linear if you decorate the adjacent walls and you make the transition between them smoother and more seamless. In this particular case, the table lamp sits right in the corner which is a nice detail too as the light is reflected onto the adjacent walls, creating a cool visual effect, most noticeable at night.
Hanging chairs, especially the egg-shaped ones, are made for corners or at least they fit perfectly in there. It makes sense to hang one in a corner since you don’t want it to be in the way and to interfere with your room’s layout too much. This is actually true for any kind of accent chair, not just the hanging kind. Don’t hesitate to add a cute side table next to the chair so you can create a snuggly and cozy reading nook.

Letest style keyring

keychain, or keyring, is a small chain, usually made from metal or plastic, that connects a small item to a keyring. The length of a keychain allows an item to be used more easily than if connected directly to a keyring. Some keychains allow one or both ends the ability to rotate, keeping the keychain from becoming twisted, while the item is being used.
A keychain can also be a connecting link between a keyring and the belt of an individual. It is usually employed by personnel whose job demands frequent use of keys, such as a security guard, prison officer, janitor, or retail store manager. The chain is often retractable, and therefore may be a nylon rope, instead of an actual metal chain. The chain ensures that the keys remain attached to the individual using them, makes accidental loss less likely, and saves on wear and tear on the pockets of the user.

How to Select the Height or Length of Curtains

There are only a few simple rules to follow for choosing curtain height or length

The length or height of the hung curtain should be to the floor or the windowsill.
Anything in between looks rather odd.
There is a trend today of puddling curtains, this is where they are made longer than the height required and “puddle” on the floor, this requires a skill in fabric selection, so that they sit well. It is used commonly in living rooms and bedrooms.
With puddled curtains on a hand drawn track, make sure that the width of the curtain is not excessive as they become heavy and difficult to draw back. They are also prone to picking up all the fluff from your floor, so a little bit more attention is required to keeping them looking smart.
The top of the curtain (the heading), for all curtains can be at ceiling height, above or at the top of the window frame or flush with the window reveal.
It all depends on the space that you have. Do keep your choice constant in your home as it can look very odd if some curtan heads are fixed at different heights to others, especially when you can view through from room to room or worse, in the same room.
The finished length of ceiling to floor curtains should leave a 10mm gap, so that they don’t catch the floor and are easy to draw back, the gap for finishing at a windowsill only requires 5mm.
For safety reasons, never cover radiator heaters with curtains, look for another solution, either stop the curtains short of the heaters or use a blind as an alternative style of window treatment.
Consistantancy in design of the window treatments allows for a symmetrical form to be created here in this photograph. The head of the curtains are all the same height and the window swag and tail valance details are all the same and they are all held back at the bottom of the window sill which provides a regular frame for the windows and creates a flow and rhythm to the window treatments.

The 10 Best Indoor Hanging Plants to Elevate Your Space

Maybe your green thumb is itching for a new plant baby or you want to make your home lush and vibrant…but you lack the floor space for free-standing potted plants. One easy solution? Indoor hanging plants. Suspended from your ceilings, they’ll add the touch of green you’re after, without taking up any of your precious floor space.

But like all indoor plants, choosing one to start with can be daunting. Which plant is best for your home? How much light will it need? What kind of pot should you use? Is it pet- and kid-friendly? You might have as many questions as there are plants to choose from, but that’s where we come in. We did some digging (heh) and consulted with an indoor plant expert—Bloomscape’s very own Plant Mom, Joyce Mast—to come up with the ten best indoor hanging plants to elevate your space

CHOOSING THE RIGHT INDOOR HANGING PLANT
According to Mast, when looking for the best indoor hanging houseplants, you’ll first need to determine a couple of things:

What kind of light will your plant enjoy?
How much time will you have to take care of its needs?
Are you able to reach the plant (to water it) once it is hanging in your home or office?
Once you’ve determined your ideal plant situation, then you can shop around. Below, ten varietals to get you started.

1. ENGLISH IVY
Light requirement: Bright indirect to direct

Water requirement: Once a week

Pet-friendly: No

Botanically known as Hedera helix, this glossy, deep green climbing vine isn’t just for covering castles and prep-school campuses. In fact, it’s better suited as a hanging plant, and it’s a cinch to care for too. It has medium watering needs and likes medium light—if you want to hang it in a darker spot, try rotating it with another plant every few months.

2. BOSTON FERN
Light requirement: Low

Water requirement: Twice a week

Pet-friendly:  Yes

Nephrolepis exaltata, or Boston fern, is feathery and high-impact but relatively easy to maintain (yep, even for beginners) in low-humidity conditions. It’s an air-purifier and it’s safe for pets, making it an ideal pick for families. Just make sure you give your plant enough space away from the ceiling to allow for proper air circulation.

3. BIRD’S NEST FERN
Light requirement: Low to bright indirect

Water requirement: Twice a week

Pet-friendly: Yes

“This lush and tropical plant enjoys low to medium light,” Mast says, “is easy to care for, pet-friendly and loves a bit of extra humidity—so place this one in a windowed bathroom or kitchen. Also known as Asplenium nidus, they get their name from the way their new growth first looks like a tiny bird egg before the frond unfurls. And the more light they get, the crinklier those fronds will grow in. Luckily, though, the bird’s nest fern also does well in low-light conditions, so it’s the one to choose if you want to brighten a dark corner in your home. Mast’s tip? “Never pour water in the center or crown since it will rot, but only under the leaves and onto the soil.”

4. STRING OF PEARLS
Light requirement: Bright indirect

Water requirement: Once every two to three weeks

Pet-friendly: No

The round pods on this pretty succulent plant aren’t just for looks—they’re actually filled with water to help your Senecio rowleyanus survive a drought (or um, your neglect). Thankfully, these hanging plants are easy to care for and require little more than a spot with indirect sunlight in your home. They’re ideal in spaces with high ceilings, so their vines have ample vertical space to sprawl. But FYI, this plant is mildly toxic, and can cause minor illness (gastrointestinal distress and skin irritation) if ingested by humans and pets.

5. SPIDER PLANT
Light requirement: Low to bright indirect

Water requirement: Once every two to four weeks

Pet-friendly: Yes

The graceful, spindly leaves of Chlorophytum comosum make it a great option for hanging, and thanks to its low-maintenance care requirements, it’s beginner-friendly too. Mast told us, “This whimsical plant enjoys medium to bright indirect light, is very easy to care for and is pet-friendly, too. This plant may produce little spiderettes (little spider plants) that can be cut off and placed in water to grow new roots and then be planted into the soil. You can share the new little baby with family and friends!” The more, the merrier.

6. PHILODENDRON HEARTLEAF
Light requirement: Low to bright indirect

Water requirement: Once a week

Pet-Friendly: No

If you, like us, have always wanted a lush hanging plant that grows without much fuss, Philodendron cordatum green is the one. “These fast-growing heart-shaped plants enjoy low to bright indirect light areas,” Mast tells us, “and are very easy to care for.” They thrive in almost any environment, so the world (read: your home) is your oyster. Even better, Mast says it can withstand drying out from time to time: “Just water thorough and hang back up,” she says.

7. BABY’S TEARS
Light requirement: Bright indirect

Water requirement: Once a week

Pet-friendly: Yes

Baby’s Tears, aka Helxine soleirolii, are common in terrariums because of their delicate, small leaves and thin stems. But put one in a hanging planter and it will really thrive, with trailing vines that spread quickly and spill over the edge of its pot. It does prefer humid conditions and hates to dry out, so try it in a bathroom with a window.

8. BURRO’S TAIL
Light requirement: Direct

Water requirement: Once every two weeks

Pet-friendly: Yes

Burrow’s tail, Sedum morganianum (and also sometimes Donkey Tail), is a succulent like String of Pearls. Its funky, plump leaves are a little high maintenance but worth it: It will sometimes blossom in the summer months, with pink to red flowers at the ends of its “tails.” It’s best grown in full sunlight, so choose a very sunny spot or a room with a south-facing window for best growth. It should be watered moderately and regularly except in the winter, when it needs less watering. And about those leaves: They’re pretty delicate and can break easily, so choose its home wisely.

9. SILVER SATIN POTHOS
Light requirement: Low to bright indirect

Water requirement: Once every two weeks

Pet-friendly: No

Silver satin pothos, Scindapsus pictus, is a classic choice for indoor hanging—it has elegant, dappled leaves and trailing vines. According to Mast, it enjoys “low to bright indirect light areas and looks lovely as a hanging plant because its patterned silvery green leaves drape over.” It prefers average to warm temperatures and moist but not wet soil (so don’t keep it saturated). Pothos will tell you what it needs: If the leaves start to turn yellow, you’ll know you’ve watered it too much, and if they turn crisp or brown, it’s getting too much direct sunlight. To reap its air-purifying benefits, hang it in your bedroom close to where you sleep. And like the spider plant, this one you can share: “Take little cutting from this one and share the plant love,” says Mast. “These are easy to propagate.”

10. AIR PLANTS
Light requirement: Direct

Water requirement: Once or twice a week

Pet-friendly: Yes

Air plants might be the lowest maintenance of all indoor hanging plants—they don’t even require soil. As long as you water them once a week (whether it’s by soaking or spritzing) and keep them from shriveling up, they’ll accent your space well. Hang them in glass terrariums with holes for air circulation

HANGING AND CARE TIPS FOR INDOOR HANGING PLANTS

  • When choosing a container, don’t just go for style points. You should also consider the size and material in relation to your plant.
  • Ceramic pots will retain moisture and are best for plants that like humid environments, while clay-based containers dry out quickly and are better suited for plants that are sensitive to overwatering.
  • Containers with skinny openings create a vertical look and cause leaves to dangle, and wide openings allow leaves to spread horizontally.
  • Always use pots that have drainage holes and a saucer to make sure you don’t overwater, causing the plants' roots to drown, and make sure the saucer is always emptied of any excess water.
  • Also consider the height of your hanging plant. Long plants should hang higher to keep their leaves and branches from trailing on the floor. Smaller, shorter plants can hang lower for a better view. And don’t hang anything too high to the ceiling—this can prevent proper airflow to the plant.
  • You’ll have to take down your plant in order to water it, so don’t hang it so high that maintenance is unmanageable.
  • Room size matters too: Hang larger plants in larger rooms to give them space to spread out.
  • If you have pets, it’s always a good idea to hang your plants out of reach from your furry friends. Some plants can be toxic to animals (and kids) if ingested…and even if they’re not, it’s a mess waiting to happen.
