When computers are connected to each other, they form a network. Networked computers are able to exchange information and share hardware and software resources like printers, programs, databases, etc.

There are three types of computer network based on size and location.

Local Area Network [LAN]
Metropolitan Area Network [MAN]
Wide Area Network [WAN]
