Embroidery of Ningthouphee and Phanek: A type of waist coat, which is popular by the name of Ningthouphee among the local people, is presented by the king to the warriors of the country. The artisans of this area use a unique type of embroidery that uses one stitch. This embroidery employs dark matching shade with untwisted silk thread on the border of the 'phanek' which is a lungi or lower body wrap worn by the local women of Manipur. The fabrics are embroidered with dark red, plum or chocolate colour threads and are usually seen in the local market. The motifs of butterfly, elephant, cockerel etc are used to bedeck the 'phanek' items. The most commonly used embroidery is "Akyobi" design that employs elegant motifs of red with a bit of black and white shade. This embroidery of Manipur is done in an elegant snake-like pattern. This particular design is said to be derived from the legendary snake, pakhamba, which was killed by the husband of a goddess. This design has a circular shape and one circle is joined to the other. Each circle is further broken up into patterns with significant motif and special name. The designs of bee and petals of lotus are created on the base materials. The designs are termed as 'moil', 'khoi mayek', 'tendwa' etc.

Embroidery on Angami Naga shawls: The excellent embroidery work of Manipur display Angami Naga shawls that are embellished with animal motifs in black. Mirror-Embroidery Work: Apart from creating different items using different designs, the local inhabitants of Manipur has mastered Abhala or mirror-embroidery work which they use for creating costumes for rasa dance. The meithei community of Manipur is excelled in the tindogbi design which has received inspiration from a silk caterpillar sitting on a castor leaf and eating it.

The Saree is known for its exquisite and unique motifs of borders on the weft of saree. Origin of Gadwal Sarees

They are woven in Andhra Pradesh and have their motif influence from South Indian architectural designs to traditional motifs like lotus and flowers. मध्य भारत के आदिवासी क्षेत्रों में भी बांस एक मत्वपूर्ण प्राकृतिक सामग्री है जिसका प्रयोग अनेक प्रकार से किया जाता है। वास्तव में बांस के बिना ग्रामीण जीवन की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती। खेत-खलिहान से लेकर घर-आंगन तक प्रत्येक काम में बांस से बनी चीजें प्रयुक्त की जाती हैं। घरेलू सामान, कृषि उपकरण से लेकर मछली पकड़ने तथा पक्षियों के शिकार तक के फंदे बांस से बनाये जाते हैं।fashionwithanuja

बांस से बनाइ जाने वाली अनेक वस्तुएं तो लोग स्वयं ही बना लेते हैं, परन्तु बांस से टोकरिया, सूपा, झांपी, कुमनी, चोरिया आदि बनाने वाले व्यवसायिक बांस शिल्पी समुदाय भी यहाँ कार्यरत हैं। तूरी, बसोर, कोड़ाकू एवं पारधी छत्तीसगढ़ के ऐसे व्यावसायिक समुदाय हैं जो बांस से उपयोगी वस्तुएँ बनाकर अपनी आजीविका चलते हैं। बस्तर क्षेत्र में यह कार्य पारधी लोग करते हैं। कोंडागांव कुछ दूरी पर स्थित गांव जोबा के नयापारा के रहने वाले बृजलाल पारधी और उनकी पत्नी सूरजबती पारधी इस इलाके के प्रसिद्ध बांस शिल्पी हैं।

बृजलाल पारधी कहते हैं पारधी समुदाय के लोग मुख्यतः बांस अथवा छींद (देसी खजूर) के पत्तों से चटाई बुनने और झाड़ू बनाने का काम करते हैं। छींद की पत्तिओं से चटाई बुनने का काम छत्तीसगढ़ के मैदानी इलाकों में अधिक होता है। बांस के काम के लिए अधिक औज़ारों की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ती। लोहे से बनाई जाने वाली छुरी और कढरी वे लोहारों से बनवा लेते हैं। लकड़ी एवं बांस से बना अड्डा जिसे घोड़ी कहते हैं, ये खुद बना लेते हैं। यह अड्डा बांस की तीलियाँ एवं खिपचियाँ छीलने में काम आता है।fashionwithanuja

विभिन्न वस्तुएं बनाने के लिए बांस की विभिन्न मोटाई और चौड़ाई की तीलियाँ छीली जातीं हैं। बांस की पतली तीली सरई कहलाती है जबकि चौड़ी पट्टी को बिरला कहा जाता है। टोकरी अथवा सूपा के किनारे पर लगाई जाने वाली मोटी और मजबूत पट्टी फाता कहलाती है।

बस्तर की आम बोलचाल की हल्बी बोली में सामान्य टोकरी को टुकनी कहते हैं। माप और उपयोग के अनुरूप इन्हे टाकरा और दावड़ा भी कहा जाता है। मुर्गा-मुर्गी रखने वाली टोकरी यहाँ गोड़ा कहलाती है। इसके अतिरिक्त सूपा एवं विवाह के मौसम में पर्रा-बीजना भी बड़ी मात्रा में बनाये जाते हैं।

सामन्यतः शिल्पी स्वयं ही हाट बाज़ारों में जाकर अपना बनाया सामान बेचते हैं, परन्तु बस्तर के बांस शिल्पियों के साथ ऐसा नहीं है। यहाँ अधिकांश हाट बाज़ारों में बांस के बने सामान बिचोलोयों द्वारा बेचे जाते हैं। यह बिचौलिए बांस शिल्पियों से इकठ्ठा सामान थोक भाव में खरीदकर उसे ऊंचे दामों पर हाट बाज़ारों में बेचते हैं।fashionwithanuja

छत्तीसगढ़ में बांस शिल्प के विकास के लिए बस्तर के परचनपाल में छत्तीसगढ़ हैंडीक्राफ्ट डेवलपमेंट बोर्ड द्वारा 1988 में शिल्पग्राम की स्थापना की गई थी। आदिवासी ग्रामीण शिल्पकारों की कला को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए छत्तीसगढ़ में शिल्पग्राम स्थापित किए गए ताकि शिल्पकारों को प्रोत्साहन के साथ-साथ वो सारी सुविधाएं मिल सकें जिनसे वे अपनी आजीविका चला सकें और इस कला को जीवित भी रख सकें। बांस के नए सजावटी एवं उपयोगी उत्पाद बनाना सिखाने के लिए असम राज्य से मास्टर ट्रेनर भी बुलाए गए थे। अभी इस शिल्पग्राम में शिल्पकार बांस, लोहे, पत्थर, मिट्टी और सीशल क्राफ्ट से जुड़े काम करते हैं। यहाँ विकसित किये गए बांस के नए उत्पाद अधिकांशतः सरकारी मेलों एवं प्रदर्शनियों में बिकते हैं।

बांस उद्योग को बढ़ावा देने तथा किसानों की आय को बढ़ाने के लिए छत्तीसगढ़ शासन ने बांस की खेती की योजना आरम्भ की है। बांस की खेती में लागत अन्य फसलों की अपेक्षा कम और आय ज्यादा है। बांस की खेती की कटाई तीसरे वर्ष में होगी। उसके बाद प्रति वर्ष कटाई होगी। किसानों को प्रति एकड़ अनुमानित 40 टन बांस प्रति वर्ष प्राप्त होगा जिससे किसानों की डेढ़ लाख की आमदनी होगी।

छत्तीसगढ़ और विशेष रूप से बस्तर में बांस को एक भोज्य पदार्थ की भांति खाया भी जाता है। बांस की नई कोमल शाखाएं खाने के काम आती हैं इन्हे यहाँ बास्ता कहा जाता है। बांस की खेती से उपजे बांस की बड़ी मात्रा में यहाँ खपत संभव है।

बस्तर में जो बांस की वस्तुएं प्रमुखता से प्रयोग में ले जाती हैं वह निम्न हैं -

टुकना -टुकनी

यह सबसे सामान्य एवं सबसे अधिक प्रयोग में ले जाने वाली टोकरी है। यह छोटे-बड़े अनेक आकारों में बनाई जाती है। इसे बांस की सीकों से बुना जाता है। जब यह छोटे अकार की होती है तब इसे टुकनी कहते हैं, जब इसका अकार बड़ा होता है तब इसे टुकना कहते हैं।

झावाँ

यह एक मजबूत टोकरी होती है जो खेतों में मिट्टी ढोने के काम आती है।

गप्पा

यह एक बहुत छोटी टोकरी होती है जो गोंडिन देवी को चढ़ावे के तौर पर चढ़ाई जाती है।  इसमें महुआ के फल भी इकट्ठे किये जाते हैं।

सूपा

यह धान और अन्य अनाज फटकने के काम आता है। इसे छोटा - बड़ा कई अकार का बनाया जाता है।

चाप

महुआ के फल सूखने हेतु काम में लाते हैं।

बिज बौनी

यह एक काफी छोटी टोकरी होती है जिसमें धान की पौध अथवा बौने के लिए बीज रखे जाते हैं। इसे किसान बीज बोते समय काम में लाते हैं।

डाली

यह बड़ी टोकरियां होती हैं जिसमे धान अथवा अन्य अनाज भर कर रखा जाता है।

ढालांगी

यह धान का भण्डारण  करके रखने के लिये बनाई जाने वाली यह बहुत बड़ी टोकरी है।

ढूठी

शिकार के बाद छोटी मछलिया रखने के लिए अथवा कोई पक्षी पकड़ने के बाद इसमें रखकर घर ले जाते हैं।

पर्रा-बिजना

यह बहुत छोटे अक्कर का हाथ पंखा और थाली जैस होता है। विवाह संस्कारों में इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है।

हाथ खांडा

यह भी छोटे आकर के पंखे जैसा होता है। विवाह संस्कारों में दूल्हा-दुल्हन को जब तेल लगाया जाता है तब वे इसे पकड़ते हैं ।

पाय मांडा

यह छोटी टोकरी होती है जिसमें दौनों पैर रखकर दूल्हा-दुल्हन विवाह मंडप में खड़े होते हैं।

चुरकी

विवाह के समय दुल्हन इसमें धान भर कर खड़ी रहती है।

छतौड़ी

यह बरसात और धूप से बचने के लिए प्रयोग में लाया जाने वाला छाता है।

मूड़ा / खोमरी

इसे ओढ़कर किसान बरसात के  समय खेतों में काम करते हैं।

झाल / छारनी

यह उबले चावलों को पसाने के लिए काम में लाया जाता है।

झांपी

विवाह में दुल्हन के कपड़े इसमें रख कर दहेज़ स्वरुप दिए जाते हैं।

थापा

उथले पानी में मछली पकड़ने का उपकरण।

बिसड़

खेतों में भरे पानी में मछली पकड़ने का उपकरण।

चोरिया

बहते नाले में मछली पकड़ने के काम आता है।

सूजी से अब तक आपने हलवा बनाया होगा। या फिर ढोकला के लिए भी आपने सूजी का इस्तेमाल किया होगा। लेकिन क्या आपने कभी सूजी से कचौड़ी बनाई है। सुनकर थोड़ी हैरानी हो रही होगी, लेकिन यह सच है कि सूजी की मदद से भी कचौड़ी बन सकती है।

खोल के लिए
बारीक सूजी: 1 कप
मैदा: 1/4 कप
नमक: 1/2 टी स्पून
मोयन के लिए तेल: 2 टी स्पून
रिफाइंड ऑयल: तलने के लिए
भरावन के लिए
हरी मटर उबली हुई: 1 कप
आलू: 2 टेबल स्पून (उबालकर कद्दूकस किया हुआ)
सूखी धनिया: 1 टी स्पून (दरदरी कुटी हुई)
सौंफ: 1/2 टी स्पून (दरदरी कुटी हुई)
जीरा: 1/2 टी स्पून
पिसा गर्म मसाला: 1/2 टी स्पून
हींग पावडर: चुटकी भर
अमचूर पावडर: 1 टी स्पून
बारीक कटा हरा धनिया: 1 टेबल स्पून
रिफाइंड ऑयल: 2 टी स्पून
नमक-मिर्च: स्वादानुसार
विधि
सूजी और मैदा को मिक्स करें। उसमें नमक डालें और गर्म तेल का मोयन डालकर गुनगुने पानी से आटा गूंथ लें।
आधा घंटा ढंक कर रखें। एक नॉनस्टिक पैन में तेल गर्म करके हींग जीरे का तड़का लगा कर कुटी सौंफ और धनिया डालें।
साथ ही उबली मटर को मसल कर डाल दें।
आलू का मिश्रण डालें, सभी मसाले डालकर भरावन तैयार कर लें। आटे को पुन: गूंथें।
छोटी-छोटी लोई लेकर हाथ से थपथपाएं और बीच में थोड़ा सा भरावन भरकर बंद कर दें। हाथ से थोड़ा फैलाएं।
मीडियम आंच पर सुनहरा होने तक कचौड़ियां तलें। हरी चटनी के साथ सर्व करें

सूजी में दही, अदरक, हरी मिर्च का पेस्ट, रिफाइंड ऑयल और नमक डालकर एक सार करें।
दस मिनट तक ढंक कर रख दें। सूजी फूलती है, इसलिए थोड़ा सा गुनगुना पानी डालकर मिश्रण ढोकले लायक करें।
इसमें बेकिंग सोडा डाल कर हल्के हाथों से चलाएं।

ढोकला बनाने वाले बर्तन को रिफाइंड ऑयल लगाकर चिकना करके उसमें मिश्रण पलटें।
लगभग 10-15 मिनट भाप में पकाएं। चाकू डाल कर देखें, यदि पक गया हो तो ढोकले वाला बर्तन बाहर निकाल कर रखें।
दस मिनट बाद ढोकला प्लेट में निकालें। तेल में हींग, जीरा, करी पत्ता डाल कर तड़का तैयार करें और उसे ढोकले पर डाल दें।
मनचाहे टुकड़े काटें और चटनी के साथ सर्व करें।
